Accessibility

Do you think anyone can get by with a little help from their friends? Are you passionate about providing the same great festival experience to everyone, regardless of disability or limitation? If so, consider working with the Accessibility team to assist those in need of a little extra help. *Due to our amazing team of returning volunteers, this team is currently full.

Artisans & Crafters

Are you passionate about local, creative, handmade and upcycled artisanal goods? Do you want to help our local entrepreneurs spread their message? If you’re 18 years of age or older, join the Artisans & Crafters team where you’ll be setting up and assisting these great vendors while also helping set up the public art mural.

Beer Sales

Do you want to help quench the thirst of our festival patrons? If you’re 18 years of age or older and are full of energy, then join the Beer Sales team and help us sling suds, wine, and coolers and keep everyone hydrated and having fun!

Bike Park

Do you believe two wheels are better than four? Do you enjoy working in the great outdoors? If so, the Bike Park team wants your enthusiasm and your organizational skills to help us work with the Pathway Patrol organization to run our free bike parking service.

Cashiers & ID’ers

Money, it’s a gas! And we need you to take it, count it, change it, and check IDs. If this sounds like your (money) bag and you’re 18 years of age or older, join the Cashiers & ID’ers team.

Check-In Services

Do you have the cool-under-pressure and organizational skills of an air traffic controller? If you’re 18 years of age or older, join our Check-In Services team where you’ll be the ever-knowledgeable first point of contact for performers, patrons, media, and everyone else arriving to the festival.

Envirodish

Do you have a real passion for the environment? Do you want to work on the frontlines of one of our festival’s biggest green initiatives? If so, join our Envirodish team where you’ll be washing and drying your way to saving over 15,000 plates and over 34,000 forks, knives, and spoons from the landfill!

Festival Kitchen

Are you a whiz in the kitchen? Do your culinary skills go above and beyond toast and Kraft Dinner? If so, join our Festival Kitchen team where you’ll be preparing and serving delicious meals for hundreds of hungry volunteers and performers. Yes chef!

Floaters

Are you a jack-of-all trades, wearer-of-many-hats, or just enjoy trying your hand at different roles? If so, consider working with the team of Floaters where you’ll get to work all over the festival, pitching in wherever help is needed. This is also a great opportunity for new volunteers to try out a bunch of different areas and find where you fit best.

Folk Club

Are you a social butterfly or experienced server looking to be up-close to the music while providing beverage service to our distinguished guests? If you’re 18 years of age or older, join the Folk Club team where you’ll be setting up, serving, stocking, and smiling stage-side.

General Store

As the Beatles say, money can’t buy you love. It can however, get you some awesome swag. If you love band merch and tie dye, work in our General Store where you can bring your passion to the fans and sell this year’s amazing crop of Folk Fest and Artist merchandise.

Green Team

Are you passionate about the environment? Does saving the planet warm your heart and fill your soul? If so, join our energetic Green Team and assist with Folk Fest’s greening initiatives to keep the festival clean and the people breathing easy.

Hospitality Suites

Do you have exceptional customer service skills and would like to be part of our premium festival experience? If you’re 18 years of age of older, join the Hospitality Suites team and serve as an ambassador to the Folk Fest experience to provide a memorable experience for our VIP guests in the heart of the festival.

Info Booth

Are you a seasoned Folk Festival veteran, well-versed in all things Folk? Do you have a knack for sharing information with a smile? If so, join our Info Booth team and help festival patrons get more familiar with the festival grounds and all the wonderful goings-on happening each and every day.

Instrument Care

Are you a gear guru? Do you understand the unbreakable sentimental attachment people have to their instruments? If so, the Instrument Care team needs your help to carefully store, organize, and transport our performer and patron instruments during the festival.

KidZone

Do you love working with children? Do you want to bring a totally awesome Folk Fest experience to our tots and toddlers? If so, join the KidZone team where you’ll be facilitating activities, games and craft workshops for children and their parents.

Performer Hospitality

Do you think rock stars (or folk stars!) are regular people too? Do you want to help make sure our performers have everything they need to put on an unforgettable show? If you’re 18 years of age or older, join our Performer Hospitality team where you’ll be providing general information to and looking after requests from our prized performers. *Due to our amazing team of returning volunteers, this team is currently full.

Performer Transportation

Do you long to be on the road again, moving through the city streets, sailing through traffic? If you’re 25 years of age or older, we need experienced drivers with a comprehensive knowledge of our beloved city to pick-up and drop off our Folk Fest performers, their teams, and their precious cargo, to make sure they arrive on-time and in-style.

Photography

Don’t it always seem to go, that you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone? That’s why the Photography Team is looking for enthusiastic people to create an enduring catalog of the volunteer experience at Folk Fest that will live on beyond the festival. This is a small hand-picked team, made-up of volunteers with a real passion and proficiency for photography.  New faces are always welcome but availability depends on our number of returning volunteers. (Our recruitment for this area is typically held at the beginning of June).

Production

Did you grow up building Lego, following those novel-length instruction manuals down to the last plastic flag and palm tree? If you’re 18 years of age or older and own a sturdy pair of steel-toed boots, join our Production team where you’ll be supporting the effective movement, placement and set up of stage/sound equipment on several Festival stages. *Due to our amazing returning volunteers, this team is currently full! Please check back often for announcements to expand the team.

50/50 (formerly Raffle)

Were you born to roam the fields of the Folk Festival? Do you want to help us raise money for our Folk Community fundraising initiatives? If so, the 50/50 team needs your energy and enthusiasm to sell tickets and make this year’s draw a success.

Safety & Gates

Do you want to work as a gatekeeper to the Folk Festival experience, ensuring our patrons get in safely so they can enjoy themselves? Do you take pride in your problem solving skills? If you’re 18 years of age or older, join our Safety & Gates team and help us run a successful festival.

Signage

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign. At least that’s our hope if you join our Signage team, where you’ll be working mostly pre- and post-festival to put up and take down signage throughout the event site.

Site Services

Are you awesome at parties? Making sure the decorations are up before everyone arrives, that the food and drinks are well-stocked, and that you don’t run out of ice? If you’re 18 years of age or older, join our Site Services team where you’ll be helping both the site construction and inventory sides of festival operations. *Due to our amazing team of returning volunteers, this team is currently full.

Social Media

Have social media platforms taken over your life? Do you live to tweet, blog, and share? If so, our Social Media team needs you to get the word out about Folk Fest (before and after the festival) along with sharing exciting and memorable moments from inside the festival. This is a small hand-picked team, made-up of volunteers with a real passion and proficiency for social.  New faces are always welcome but availability depends on our number of returning volunteers. (Our recruitment for this area is typically held at the beginning of June).

Volunteer Trailer

Are you a great greeter and a champion for the volunteers? If you’re 18 years of age or older, join the team in the Volunteer Trailer and make sure our Folk Fest volunteers get hooked up with everything they need to succeed at the festival.

Volunteer Welcome Centre

Are you super-organized and highly helpful? If so, join the Volunteer Welcome Centre team and help run the central hub for all things volunteer. Provide information, answer questions, bake cookies, and our volunteers are sure to succeed.
